What People Say About Working With Me

"Not many people would have the opportunity to meet a friend within their consultant. I have had the pleasure of consulting him for a few months regarding my business & finances. He was able to give me unique insights that I have not seen and thought of before. He went the extra mile to explain certain terms of the business and finance side of things and really made an effort to ensure that I understood the concepts before he would proceed to the next topic. When I was stuck in a rut for potential problems that my business & finances would face, he was able to see ahead and suggest directions for me. I would recommend him if you need an honest feedback and critical analysis on your financial direction!"

"I didn’t want a ‘hit and run’ advisor. I wanted someone who would walk the journey with me. Since our first meeting, Thad has been proactive with reviews, quick to respond to questions and honest about what I do and don’t need. It feels like a long-term partnership, not a sales pitch. I trust him with my plans and will recommend him to friends and family."

Software Developer, Singapore

"My wife and I were sceptical about financial advisory services before I met Thad. He managed to clarify my doubts and identified the needs I have overlooked based on my current situation which really helped us feel more comfortable in our shoes now."

JW
Johnathan W.
Banking, Singapore

"I always thought my previous advisor had did a great job until I realised I lost about 20% in my investments. I got to know Thad from a mutual friend and engaged him to provide a second opinion on what I currently have on hand. He immediately identified the massive amount unnecessary risks I had taken on within the investment portfolio my previous advisor had structured for me. Within the week, he managed to restructure the entire portfolio for me with the limited amount of funds I had access to. He went the extra mile to ensure I understood what he had structured for me before we made any decisions. Definitely will recommend him if you want to get a second opinion."

"I met Thad during a social event when he was still in banking. I was always uncertain about my retirement plans and wanted to find out more about what I could do to secure my retirement and how it would work when I return to Malaysia to retire in the future. He helped me to understand what I could do to retire with a peace of mind and now I have a plan with a realistic goal."

FAQs

It’s normal to feel a bit unsure before talking to a financial advisor. You might be worried about being sold to, judged, or confused by jargon.

This FAQ section is here to show you what working with me actually looks like. So you know what you’re walking into: clear explanations, no hard selling, and a calm, transparent process built around you.

1. What do you actually do as a financial advisor?

I help you make clear, practical money decisions.

That includes things like:

  • Protecting your income and family
  • Planning for big goals (home, kids, retirement)
  • Structuring your savings and investments
  • Reviewing what you already have so you’re not overpaying or under-covered

My job is to translate all the complex stuff into simple, actionable steps that fit your life.

2. Who do you typically work with?

I mainly work with:

  • Busy working professionals who don’t have time to “figure it all out” themselves
  • Young families who want to protect what they’ve built and plan ahead
  • People who already have some policies or investments and want a proper check-up

You don’t need to be a millionaire to work with me. You just need to be serious about getting your finances organised.

3. What can you help me with?

Some common areas I cover:

  • Insurance planning – life, critical illness, hospitalisation, income protection
  • Investment & wealth accumulation – long-term investing, investment-linked plans, fund portfolios
  • Retirement planning – building income you can’t outlive
  • Family protection & legacy – making sure your loved ones are taken care of
  • Policy and portfolio reviews – checking if what you already have still makes sense

Everything starts with your goals, your numbers, your comfort level with risk. The products only come after that, recommended solely based on your needs.

If you have something extremely complicated, I have a team of experts and partners to assist with your situation.

4. Is financial planning only for wealthy people?

No. Financial planning is how people become and stay wealthy, not something you only do after you’re rich.

It’s about:

  • Protecting your income and family
  • Using your money intentionally
  • Avoiding costly mistakes

Whether you’re just starting out, building your career, or already comfortable, planning simply helps you make better decisions with what you have right now.

5. Do I need to be financially savvy to work with you?

No, and you’re not expected to be.

If you’ve ever felt lost or intimidated by financial jargon, this is exactly why I’m here. I’ll slow things down, use everyday examples, and give you space to ask as many questions as you like.

You don’t have to be “good with money” to start. We’ll build that confidence over time, together.

6. How do you get paid? Are there extra fees?

My compensation depends on the solutions you choose.

Typically:

  • I’m compensated by the product providers (e.g. insurers / investment platforms) through commissions.
  • For more complex cases, there may be advisory or planning fees with our partners. If that applies, I will explain it clearly upfront before you decide on anything.

You will always know what costs are involved before you commit. No surprises, no hidden charges.

7. What happens after I fill up the contact form?

Once you submit the form, here’s what happens next:

  • I review what you’ve shared I’ll look through your goals, questions and concerns so I don’t show up to our first meeting blind.
  • I contact you personally I’ll reach out via your preferred method (WhatsApp, call, or email) to introduce myself and clarify what you’re looking for.
  • We schedule a meeting From there, we’ll fix a time for a proper first meeting – either face-to-face or online (Zoom/Google Meet), depending on what’s most convenient for you.
  • You decide the next step If you feel comfortable and it’s a good fit, we’ll move on to getting to know each other more. If not, you’ll still walk away with more clarity on your situation.

Your details are kept confidential and used only to contact you and prepare for our discussion. No spam. No mass marketing. Just a proper, friendly conversation.

8. What happens in the first meeting?

The first session is not a sales pitch.

We will:

  • Talk about your life, goals, worries and time frame
  • Go through your current policies, savings and commitments (if you have them)
  • Identify key gaps, risks and priorities
  • Decide together if it makes sense to continue

You can treat it like a financial health check. If you’re not comfortable after the first session, there’s no obligation to go further.

9. Do I need to bring anything for the first session?

If you have them, these help a lot:

  • Existing insurance policies (or policy schedules)
  • Statements from investment accounts / ILPs / unit trusts
  • Any recent CPF, SRS or savings summaries
  • A simple idea of your income, expenses and debts

If you don’t have everything, that’s okay. We can still start with what you know and fill in the details later.

10. Will you pressure me to buy something on the spot?

No.

My rules are simple:

  • I explain the plan, the numbers and the risks
  • I answer your questions honestly
  • You decide when you’re ready

You’re never required to commit on the spot. A good decision should feel calm and clear, not rushed.

11. How often will we review my plan?

Money and life both change. Your plan shouldn’t be “set and forget”.

Typical review rhythm:

  • At least once a year for a full review
  • Ad-hoc check-ins when big life events happen (new job, marriage, kids, property, etc.)
  • More frequent touch-points when markets are volatile or when you’re nearing a key milestone

The goal is simple: keep you on track, and adjust as life evolves.

12. Is our discussion confidential? How do you handle my data?

Yes. Your information is treated as confidential.

I follow:

  • The Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) in Singapore
  • The internal compliance and privacy standards of the my firm and the product providers I represent

I only collect and use your data to:

  • Understand your situation
  • Provide quality and accurate advice and service
  • Meet regulatory and compliance requirements

I do not sell your data. If you ever want to stop receiving updates or review what I hold, you can let me know anytime.
